Shoe shopping.......................................................

DSW was having up to eighty percent off clearance and triple points day yesterday. I HAD TO GO! I was pretty well behaved and bought mostly flats (first picture) with two of the three pair being eighty percent off, three pairs for forty dollars. The fabulous red ones in the second picture insisted on coming home with me. I sat on the floor of the store for a good twenty minutes trying to talk them out of it, but they were not listening so I finally gave in and let them jump in the bag with the other shoes. What? You think I am a softy for a cute pair of shoes do you? I bet you wouldn't have been able to say no to the either! Just look at them!

Ok I do not like the first 3 but the little red ones??
I L.O.V.E!! Geez I hate it when they try to talk to you. My big thing is I try to walk away and go home and if I am still thinking of them the next day then I go get them..AAKHHHEEMM you see how well this works for me??lol
What gets me is the ones that sneak in? You know you get to the cash and then poof there they are and you think "hummm..t" trying to look the other way as they get rang up...

Ya! I agree that the flats are all ugly, but they are functional. Because of my flat feet I need to wear shoes all the time for support while I am running all these miles or I will have problems. I had just been wearing my running shoes but doing so meant I had to replace them too early (before sidewalk sales). I am hoping that these will be supportive enough (they are comfy) to keep my legs in fine form between runs so I can go back to wearing my heels after the marathon without discomfort.

My heels don't sneak in...they are brash and shout out their needs just like I do. It can be rather embarassing at times.

You do have a thing for shoes don't you. I mean a big thing ;) The red ones are adorable. But how do you walk in those heels! I can't do that. Hurts my feet thinking of it.
Nice shoes though, very pretty!

Dee,
My thing with shoes goes waaaaay back to my first marriage when we were poor (or so I thought, he actually just had control of OUR money) and all I owned was one pair of $3 Keds, while I bought Buster Browns for the babies and wing-tips for the hubby. One of the reasons he left me (his words, not mine) was because his secretary (now wife) dressed better than I did. Right about the time he left a shoe warehouse moved into town and I found that there WAS money in the budget for shoes. Shoes became a symbol of my independence, a way I could make a statement about who I was, and no matter what guys say, they think heels are sexy and I wanted to show my ex a thing or two about what he tossed away.

Believe it or not the heels on the shoes above are tiny compaired to the ones the girls were getting. I can't do real high anymore. There was this one pair I tried on that I told the girl, "These are really cute, and I could get them to stand in because I can't walk in them, and I certainly couldn't dance in them." There was this "husband" waiting patiently for someone on the bench by where we were standing and I noted he was half laughing at my comment, but also perplexed at the thought that I would even consider trying on a pair of shoes that were not comfortable. Comfort is only the icing on the cake as far as shoes goes, it is all about the shoes calling out to you.

I see what you mean about 'independance'. As I am a big girl, I need good shoes. They have to carry a lot of weight you see. So a few years ago I discovered THINK shoes. They are very good quality, and they do large sizes even for the ladies, and they are unusual and pretty (and expensive unfortunately). They don't do very high heels anyway. Even if I wanted to, I can't buy in the regular high street stores, as they never have my size (I'm a size 43, which is 10,5 in US sizes).

Think shoes:

I do have a thing for bags though. I have a rather extensive collection :) (continuously growing)

Oh Dee! You MUST put some pictures of your bag collection on your web. I have just started liking those and want to see what I can aspire to someday!

I too love the red ones and I do hate it when they talk to you! Other shoppers tend to look at you funny when you are forced to talk back to them!!

Vacation is going great--relaxin' is about all that is happening. I love it!! Nextel does not work up here (the UP), but free internet is good.

Take care, talk with you when I return. (ORA)

Glad you are relaxing ORA,

NOT having a phone is a good thing in my book...especially on vacation! Enjoy the peace and quiet.

Flats are much more functional, but heels make your legs more shapely, and men notice that.

Do you want trouble or not?

A very difficult question.

ok Patty.. I shall see what I can do (posting the bag collection) - it's a bit like outing yourself though, but I suppose we do that all the time in our blogs...lol

One4jc,

Wearing one of the three flats would help you keep ahead of the wicked plaids.

T-Girl,

I am so sorry you can't experience DSW. Maybe there is one within driving distance? The first thing I did when Random said she was moving is to locate the nearest DSW to her new city. Unfortunately it is an hour away from her, but it does give her a great excuse to take the convertible out for a drive now doesn't it?

Minor correction Therapist,

It is training for a marathon that makes my legs more shapely, with the heels showcasing their new, fabulous shape. Also, some might say I WAS trouble on heels or off. I'm pleading the fifth on that one.

Hi Dee,

I believe in tit for tat...Post some of your bags and I pledge to post something for you in return, and you get to name what you want to see (family faces or other truly identifing info exempt, of course).
